Frequently Asked Questions

Clear, direct answers regarding our medically validated cognitive training programs, outcomes, and clinical oversight.

How do you measure improvement objectively before and after the program?

We use a 90-question standardized assessment developed by neuropsychiatrist Dr. Ron Minson that measures five functional domains: ADHD traits (using the Rubiner screener), sensory-motor function, auditory/language, social-emotional, and executive functions. Historically, our results are also backed by continuous performance tests (IVA Plus) and Wechsler Essentials academic baselines.

What percentage of children complete the program and show clinically meaningful improvement?

A 2018 independent statistical analysis of 250 Maxi Mind clients demonstrated that approximately 90% of children completing the program show clinically meaningful, lasting improvements across targeted functional domains, with less than a 1% probability that the results were by chance.

What happens if we don't see meaningful improvement after 10–15 sessions?

Lasting neuroplasticity requires repetition, which is why the average course is 40 sessions. If progress stalls early, an assigned Case Manager collaborates with the family, the coach, and the supervising psychologist. We can adjust protocols mid-program, change the delivery location, or assign a different coach to match the child's learning style.

What portion of the fee is refundable if we discontinue?

The initial $750 (covering the first 5 sessions) is non-refundable. Beyond that phase, any deposits held against future, unused sessions are fully refundable upon notice of discontinuation, for any reason.

Is the program intended to replace behavioural therapy, or is it complementary?

It can be either. Many families transition to Maxi Mind when Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) plateaus. While ABA is effective for compliance, Maxi Mind focuses on underlying neuro-developmental growth. We also serve many clients who successfully utilize both therapies concurrently.

Who supervises the treatment, and what are their credentials?

Every session is a medically validated cognitive training session, supervised and signed off by registered child psychologists licensed with the Ontario College of Psychologists (and OAP registered). The sessions are conducted one-on-one by certified Neuroeducational Coaches (career educators) whose expertise ensures the high level of child engagement required to achieve lasting habit and cognitive change.
